Use the US pay stub generator for employees paid in the United States, and the UK payslip generator for employees paid through PAYE in the United Kingdom. Each uses its own country's terms and layout.
What do I need before I start?
Your payroll record for the pay period: employer and employee details, the pay period and pay date, each earning or payment, each tax and deduction, and the year-to-date totals up to the previous pay period. PayDocs lays these figures out; it doesn't work them out.
Do I need an account?
Not to create or preview. Accounts are not open yet; when they are, you'll need one to save drafts and keep your documents.
Will my entries be kept if I leave the page?
No. Until a draft is saved to your workspace, refreshing or closing the page clears what you entered, so keep the page open until you're done.
Can I switch a document between US and UK?
No. Start a new one in the other generator. The two are deliberately separate: a US pay stub doesn't become a UK payslip by changing the currency or the title.
What figures am I allowed to enter?
Only real pay from payroll you run or have permission to prepare. Don't invent an employer, an employee, income or an approval. If you're not sure you have permission, check with whoever owns the payroll record first.
What does every document include?
Employer and employee details, the pay period and pay date, each earning adding up to gross pay, each tax and deduction, net pay, and year-to-date totals.
How is year to date worked out?
You enter the year-to-date totals up to the previous pay period, and PayDocs adds this period's figures to them. The preview updates as you type.
Does PayDocs calculate tax?
No. You enter each tax and deduction from your payroll. US federal, state and local calculations, and UK PAYE, National Insurance and pension calculations, stay unavailable until their rules are taken from official sources and reviewed. PayDocs won't guess.
Can I change the layout?
Yes. There are six layouts for each country, and you can switch at any point while you create. Your figures stay exactly as they are.
Why is the preview watermarked?
So a preview can't be mistaken for a finished document. The finished PDF has no watermark, and it says how it was prepared.
Can a finished document be changed?
No. Once issued it stays the same, and downloading it again gives you the same file. A correction becomes a new revision.
Does a PayDocs document prove income or employment?
No. PayDocs doesn't verify employment, certify income, or promise that anyone will accept a document. It doesn't file payroll or give tax advice.
Can I download a finished PDF now?
Not yet. Checkout opens at launch, once the refund policy is published on the pricing page.
How much will it cost?
$4.99 per US pay stub and £3.99 per UK payslip, for the finished PDF. Creating and previewing are free, there's no subscription and no add-ons, and you see the price before you pay.
How will paying work?
You'll confirm the figures come from real payroll, see the price, and pay on the payment provider's secure checkout page. Your card details go to the provider, not to PayDocs. Once payment is confirmed, the PDF is ready to download.
What happens to the figures I type?
They stay in your browser while you work. Nothing is stored unless you save a draft to your own workspace.
